"Moosgasse” (Moss Alley)

I like to make up little stories inside my head to go along with my paintings. The story behind this one was that extra-terrestrial aliens had arrived on Earth and unleashed a virus that wiped out humans and mutated everything else.

I laid out the sketch on canvas in early 2020 and and then the *real* pandemic hit. Suddenly, I started looking at it differently. I’m not sure whether it was that I needed a little more time away from painting or if I needed time away from THIS painting, but I just had a hell of a time getting back into it.

Moosgasse is the name of the street where my sister-in-law’s family lives. We were scheduled to visit them, but the *real* pandemic put an end to that.
